Benjamin + Carolina | Northern Ireland Coast Adventure Session

We just spent a week driving the whole coast of Ireland, frolicking through the most beautiful green hills and cliffs, eating amazing food, drinking Guinness, and enjoying our last big trip as just the two of us before baby girl joins us in a couple of months. If you ever have a chance to go to Ireland, GO! It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. It is just as green and beautiful as you think it to be. Green hills, castles and sheep everywhere.

We met Benjamin and Carolina on Instagram after searching for a couple to model for us during our time in Ireland. They were the only ones we found that were down to adventure and model for us. We met up with them the night before our session for a meal and to get to know one another a bit. They took us to a super rad local restaurant where they actually met working a number of years ago. Carolina is from Peru, and her family moved to Spain and she moved to Northern Ireland. Benjamin is a local and they met working at the restaurant. We spent the evening talking and laughing, and eating really good food.

The next morning we woke up early, packed up the car and drove 30 minutes to the coast to meet up for sunrise. We went to Kinbane Head, which is the home of Kinbane Castle - ruins of an old castle the sit upon a huge green cliff, overlooking the ocean. We had gone location scouting the day before and found it was the most BEAUTIFUL location we could have possibly found. Lush green cliffs, castle ruins, hidden waterfalls, cliffs that looked like the Cliffs of Moher, and a gorgeous coast line with rocky structures and a wild, restless ocean beating against the shore and cliffs. It was breathtaking. Literally. Seeing as how you have to climb down about 100 steep steps to get to the base. And then back up - which is quite the feat when you are 7 months pregnant.

The weather that morning was cold, windy, rainy, sleeting, hailing, snowing, muddy - virtually every miserable type of weather you can imagine. Ben and Carolina were serious troopers and stuck it out for us. So much so that they look like they are warm and cozy in these photos - when really they (and us) were freezing our ever loving butts off. I am so thankful they stuck it out and helped us create some serious magic! We cannot wait to go back to Ireland and see more of this beautiful country.
